Review of Commercial PD Rights

DOE have launched a public consultation on proposals to extend permitted development rights to assist owners of business premises. Currently the threshold is the lower of 50sqm or 25% of the floorspace (subject to area restrictions including buildings in conservation areas). It is proposed to double the size permissible without the need to apply for planning permission. Other proposals include a 20% increase in the size of loading bays. The consultation closes on 30th June.
